SO-GNAR kicked off the Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour this last weekend at Winter Park Resort in Colorado.  Conditions were great and the level of fun and progression was off the charts.  The mountain got fresh snow last week and then the skies cleared to provide two days of sunshine and great snow.  We had our own private park setup with 4 custom features for exclusive use by Mighty Midwest campers. Check out the video recap below..

In addition to this year's Midwest shred stops, the SO-GNAR Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour is stepping it up to include camps in Colorado, California, Washington and Japan.  The Tour's gained a ton of momentum and international exposure over the past five years and we want to spread the personality and passion of the Midwestern snowboard community across borders, barriers and trends.

TOUR DESCRIPTIONThe SO-GNAR Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour is a series of 2-day youth snowboard camps coming to a mountain near you.  Unlike traditional snowboard camps that require you to fork out an unholy amount of dough and travel to some unfamiliar, far-away resort, the SO-GNAR Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour brings the fun, progression and pro-rider coaching to your local shred spot.  With 12 stops across the Midwest, Colorado, California, Washington and our first-ever camp in Japan, this year's Tour is bound to be the best ever.


TOUR HISTORYThe SO-GNAR Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour was started 5 years ago by pro-snowboarder and Midwest native, Pat Milbery.  Pat's original goal was to give back to his hometown community in Minnesota by making traditional, expensive, distant snowboard camps available to local kids who didn't have the financial means or resources to attend.  This is the first year Pat has expanded the Tour outside the Midwest region to include camps in Colorado, California, Washington and Japan.  He hopes to continue the growth of the SO-GNAR Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp Tour year after year to include camps all across the globe.


NEW CAMP ADDITION: 4 Custom-made Jib FeaturesWe are taking 4 brand new custom-made jib features on Tour with us this year.  These jib features will be showcased on-hill for camper use at ever camp in the US.  The jib features will also be used in urban setting for video and photo opportunities.

Milbery Takes On The World

High-speed winch + 8 foot ramp + slip and slide + a whole bunch of crazy people = BEST SLIP AND SLIDE EVER.  A weekend at the Redbull fun camp. Minnesota.  Red Bull athletes Levi Lavallee, Parks Bonifay, JD Webb, Adam Errington, Pat Milbery, Miles Daisher, and Othar Lawrence teamed up to make this slip and slide session one of the best of ALL TIME.

So, myself and few other snowboarders are throwing the 1st Ever Snowboard Film and Music festival at Red Rocks. It is an independent funded event!
It's a kick off to a great winter season ahead and it was conceptualized on a basis to bring snowboarders and music lovers together at one of best outdoor venues in the world!
Which happens to be in our backyard, here in Colorado.

MILBERY ON THE MOVE

We took a trip to lovely Austin,Texas to go visit our good friend Griff. Griff, as most Colorado residents would know him from Cosmo's Pizza in Boulder, moved down to Austin a few years back. The opportunity arose to do up some wall murals in a brand spanking new Wahoo's Fish taco restaurant . So, we made up a few specialized designs for Texas and went to town for 2 days. 48 hours, 2 plane tickets, one day of wakeboarding, one hip hop show, 2 pool parties, plenty of Wahoo's fish tacos and 17 cowboy hats' later...we have this video edit. "Don't Mess With So-Gnar!" Fool.

SO-GNAR presents a JUNE session in the Backyard Park

Saturday June 12th, Pat Milbery, the So-Gnar Monster, along with the Fehrle Family hosted the 1st Backyard Session of the  2010. There was a great turnout of local rippers, the Channel 9 News Team showed up to cover the event. Great summer times in Denver, Colorado. This edit was done by Steve Cummings, with many more to come.  Big thanks to the Fehrle Family for hosting and providing an outlet for their community of local riders.
